Harper's Story

Meet Harper, a sweet four-year-old who lights up every room she enters with her big imagination and infectious smile. 

Harper came into CEDARS care when she was just five days old. She was placed with foster parents Rae and Amanda Peters, with the plan for her to one day reunify with her biological father. 

As Harper waited for that day, she began to thrive while in her foster home. She was diagnosed with autism early on but made tremendous progress with the love, patience, and consistency Rae and Amanda provided. She experienced many big emotions at home, but they remained by her side through every challenge, knowing it was the only place she truly felt safe. 

Over the years, the Peters became the steady foundation Harper needed. They encouraged her growth, celebrated every milestone, and loved her unconditionally through every obstacle. 

When Harper's family plan changed, it became clear that she needed a loving, stable, and permanent place to call home. For Rae and Amanda, the decision to adopt her was easy. They had loved her as their own from the very beginning. 

Harper's adoption was recently finalized, and today she proudly tells everyone, "I'm a Peters." 

Stories like Harper's are possible because of foster parents like Rae and Amanda, who open their hearts and homes to children who need them most. Their unwavering love and commitment have given Harper the childhood she deserves, and we can't wait to see all she achieves.
