Darcy's Story
Darcy wasn’t expecting to spend the holidays under another family’s roof. When she had to suddenly leave her parents’ home because she was no longer safe there, she wondered where she was going to live, where she would sleep, and what the upcoming holiday season would look like.
Thankfully, Darcy was able to stay with family friends and CEDARS foster parents, Aleena and Travis, who have two young kids of their own. Being in this familiar environment has helped Darcy open up and work through her trauma. She’s also found some new hobbies, making bracelets and paintings for her friends—Darcy is finally beginning to feel safe again.
Thank you for helping CEDARS bring comfort and warmth to kids like Darcy this holiday season!
