Jayden's Story
Meet Jayden!
When Jayden’s home was no longer safe, he came to stay at CEDARS.
Being removed from his home was really traumatic for Jayden. Not only was he placed somewhere unfamiliar to him, but he also was separated from his sister who he was extremely close with.
While at CEDARS, our team did everything they could to make him feel at home. They made sure he was always included in group activities but also gave him the space to be alone if needed.
After living with us for about a week, we found a foster home for Jayden! His former teammate’s family was welcoming him into their home. Staff joined the first phone call with the family and saw the joy on Jayden’s face when he found out he would be staying with people he already knew.
As Jayden packed his bags to head to his new home, we called his foster mom to tell her how important Jayden’s sister is to him. After asking a few questions, she offered to take his sister into their home as well. The family surprised Jayden with the good news when he got there.
We are so thankful that Jayden was able to find a warm, welcoming home! And we are grateful that we could be a safe place for him while he waited for it.
