Jovie's Story

Meet Jovie, a sweet little girl with a personality larger than life.  

Jovie has lived with her aunt and uncle, CEDARS-licensed foster parents, since day one. She was born with substances in her system and immediately placed in their care to ensure she was safe. Aunt Kim and Uncle Josh were more than just relatives to Jovie; they became her biggest advocates, loving her like she was one of their own and connecting her to all the resources she needed to get healthy.  

As Jovie got older, and her biological mom started seeking help, the two began a relationship. This made the family dynamic difficult, so Kim and Josh leaned on their CEDARS foster care specialist to navigate it. Jovie’s mom loved her deeply, but she ultimately made the selfless decision to entrust Kim and Josh with raising her daughter. They agreed to give Jovie the best life possible while also continuing to nurture the relationship between her and her mom.  

In Kim and Josh’s care, Jovie is thriving. She shares her home with two little boys around her age, and she has a blast growing up alongside them and making memories. The kids love watching cartoons, reading books, and swimming in the backyard pool together.  

We are so happy to see Jovie growing into the strong, confident, and joyful child she is today. We can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes in the loving care of her Aunt Kim and Uncle Josh.
